![]() ![]() At the age of 57, he retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad as an agent telegrapher of 36 years.įrank was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard, Brotherhood Railroad Association, American Legion Post 226, and a member of KJT #16 in Wallis. They were united in marriage on October 24, 1951. Frank then met the love of his life, Rosalee Goericke in Bishop, Texas. He was hired on with the Southern Pacific Railroad as an agent telegrapher. He received honorable World War II discharge in August 1949.Īfter the Army, Frank went to Telegraph School in Houston, Texas where he learned Morse code. He was also a light tank crewman and a rifle expert. During his deployment, Frank received the World War II Victory medal. He was stationed in Japan for 3 years as a member of the 7th Cavalry regiment. Frank enlisted into the Army in October 1946 at the age of 17. At the age of 16, he took a job as a roughneck in the oil industry. ![]() At the age of 13, he stopped going to school to help his family on the farm with picking cotton. He was born Octoin the Krasna area (Wallis, Texas) to parents Frank and Ludmila Matej Kubes.įrank was raised in Wallis, Texas and attended Central School through 7th grade. Frank Kubes Jr., age 90 of East Bernard, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. ![]()
